Building Strength

Wendy Goudie was one of the first people I met with I moved to British Columbia in 2008, and what a great friend to meet! We each had a booth at a health conference in Penticton, BC and while I don’t remember how we struck up a conversation, it was a great one and we became fast friends.

At the time she owned a yoga and dance studio and I was just getting started with my nutrition consulting business. I was in awe of everything she had built and her passion and enthusiasm for her work. For 2 years I did some light bookkeeping and marketing for her studio and I got to watch first-hand her teaching talent. No matter the group, from 90-somethings in her chair yoga classes to the young kids in her dance classes, she was able to breakdown any exercise or dance technique into something everyone understood.

…she even convinced me to take a dance class or two :)

During the early days of the pandemic I was really struggling with how to exercise at home. I kept injuring myself when I did YouTube videos and I didn’t know where to turn.

Then I had a catch-up chat with Wendy and learned that she had closed her studio and moved online. I joined her program immediately and started watching her videos the next day. I was HOOKED!

Wendy’s a spectacular teacher. She explains each exercise so it’s easy to understand and always gives guidance on different alternatives for different bodies. I finally understood why I kept getting injured when I watched YouTube videos. My body isn’t 20 anymore and it needs some adjustments…my ego didn’t like that but my body was so much happier!

Wendy has put together a great group of videos for us to build strength. They target different areas of the body and there two different methods:

Part 1: Why should you get stronger?

I (Lisa) wrote this part to give you a bit of insight into why I feel it’s important to focus on getting stronger. It’s a powerful way of looking at changing your body shape ❤️.

Part 2: In A Chair

These classes are specifically crafted for bodies that are more comfortable seated in a chair, rather than lying down or standing up. These videos are particularly good for hip or knee issues.

Part 3: On A Mat

These classes are for bodies that are comfortable moving up and down from the floor easily

No matter which style you choose, your body will get stronger!
