February - Pelvic Floor Support & A Pleasurable Life

Introduction

The pelvic floor is an unsung hero in our body. It literally keeps many organs from falling out of our bodies. It’s a muscle that stretches like a hammock from the tail bone to the pubic bone and pulled to the sides by both sit bones. It’s a strong and powerful muscle that controls many important survival functions, like pooping.

(warning, lots of poop talk in this masterclass!)

But…we rarely think about our pelvic floor unless we’re dealing with major symptoms of a pelvic floor disorder. Symptoms like:

  • Fecal or bladder incontinence

  • Pelvic organ prolapse; like bladder, uterine, or rectal prolapse

  • Fecal obstruction

But, there can be minor symptoms that you may be dealing with every day that could be helped by giving your pelvic floor some TLC. Many of these symptoms are so common that they feel “normal”. What you’ll hear in this masterclass is that they may be common…they’re definitely not normal (and they’re fixable :).

Symptoms like:

  • Urine leakage, like when sneezing or jumping

  • Constipation, esp. straining with a bowel movement

  • A heavy feeling in the pelvis, esp at the end of the day

  • Muscle spasms in the pelvic

  • Sexual difficulty (both men and women)

In this masterclass we get the pleasure of learning from two amazing experts:

Corinne Wade – Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist, here to teach us about the pelvic floor and how to find balance.

And

TamaraRae Logan – Pleasure + Confidence Coach, here to teach us how to wake up our body and bring back pleasure and joy into our lives. She provides simple and effective ways to wake up our entire body to bring laughter, dance, happiness, and joy back to our body.

Why this combo? I think both pleasure and our pelvic floor are neglected in our culture…and by waking up one we tend to wake up the other ❤️.

How this masterclass is organized:

Part 1 – All about the Pelvic Floor, an interview with Corinne Wade

My interview with Corinne was full of laughter and a-ha moments. She takes us through an easy to understand anatomy lesson, what the pelvic floor does, symptoms you may feel, when surgery is necessary, and how to find balance. She brings the men in at the end of this great interview

I’ve added some nutrition tips for a happy pelvic floor (I just can’t help myself)

Part 2 – Pleasure & Awakening Your Senses, an interview with TamaraRae Logan

TamaraRae is a bright light in the world. She’s bringing the power of pleasure and pleasurable experience into our everyday life. We had a great chat about simple ways to wake up our senses bring more love to our beautiful bodies. Our chat felt like a healing balm in this dark winter ❤️
