My Favourite Cookbooks

It’s a wonderful time for cookbooks! In the last few years there has been a bit of a renaissance for cookbooks. There are SO many beautiful books out right now!

But, the truth is…I’m not a big recipe user. So, I’ve added the books I really love and then I brought in some reinforcements :). I asked two lovely people in my life that LOVE cookbooks to give their input too :).

Together, Our Community Cookbook - a beautiful collection of recipes collected in a community kitchen in London, England, which opened to the residents of the Grenfell Tower following the horrific fire. It’s a really beautiful book.

Oh She Glows, by Angela Liddon - this is a beloved favourite of many people. They’re all plant-based vegan recipes…and while they can be complicated at times, they’re always delicious. Quick tip, her website is full of great recipes too :)

Jamie’s Food Revolution, by Jamie Oliver - a book full of great recipes (many are meat-based), and it’s great for any new cooks…or ones who would like to improve their cooking skills. He teaches a lot about how to cook in this book, it’s a great reference.

Jamie’s 15 min Meals, by Jamie Oliver - another great one from Jamie…we all need fast recipes sometimes :)

The Looneyspoons Collection, by Janet & Greta Podleski - No longer low-fat promoters, they’ve re-written their recipes to be whole food and healthy. One of the sisters even went back to school and became a Registered Holistic Nutritionist (like me :). This is a good book, full of well-known ingredients and family favourites.

Yum & Yummer, by Greta Podleski - one of the Looney Spoons with a solo effort.

Hot Vegan, by Robin Robertson - a great resource for plant-based cooking.

Barefoot Contessa Back to Basics, by Ina Garten - Her show used to be a favourite of mine, I love how much she loves cooking! Her food always makes my mouth water :)

Gordon Ramsay's Home Cooking, by Gordon Ramsay - I also loved Gordon Ramsay (back when I had cable). I love his view on cooking :)

The Modern Ayurvedic Cookbook - if you’re looking to dive into traditional Indian cooking, this is a great book :)

Isa Does It, by Isa Chandra Moskowitz - fast, easy plant-based cooking at it’s best :).

And, a few favourites from my wonderful mom <3

The Slow Cooker collection, by Canadian Living

Best Recipes Ever, by Karey Osmond - also from Canadian Living
